Synthesia is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on driving user acquisition, activation, and revenue growth. This role involves breaking down complex projects into manageable stages, making strategic trade-offs, and partnering closely with product and data teams to maximize business outcomes. You will be responsible for scaling the team by identifying skill gaps, attracting and retaining top talent, and fostering a collaborative, high-velocity culture. The Growth team operates at the intersection of product, engineering, and data, rapidly shipping experiments and iterating based on measurable results, directly impacting user journeys and business performance.
Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of complex engineering projects focused on user acquisition, activation, and revenue growth.
- Break down initiatives into manageable stages with predictable timelines, balancing speed, experimentation, and scalability.
- Partner with product and data teams to prioritize high-impact work and maximize business outcomes.
- Scale the engineering team by identifying and filling skill gaps, particularly in experimentation, performance, and conversion optimization.
- Collaborate with recruiting to attract and retain top talent for a fast-paced, outcome-driven environment.
- Monitor team performance proactively, ensuring strong execution and continuous improvement.
- Support engineers in delivering measurable impact and developing their careers.
- Navigate difficult conversations with clarity and empathy, balancing business urgency with technical quality.
- Foster a collaborative, high-velocity team culture aligned with company goals.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams delivering high-impact, user-facing projects (ideally 4+ years).
- Strong ability to operate in fast-paced, experiment-driven environments with clear business metrics.
- Experience scaling teams and aligning them to product and revenue goals.
- Proven ability to track performance and help team members improve output and impact.
- Excellent communication skills, especially in cross-functional environments (product, data, design).
- Relevant engineering background building scalable SaaS products.
- Experience with growth, experimentation, or conversion optimization is a strong plus.
