As a Research Scientist focused on data, you will work at the forefront of LLM development by designing datasets that influence how frontier models behave. You will collaborate directly with AI research teams to explore new data collection strategies, assess dataset quality, and discover insights that enhance alignment, safety, and model performance. This is a research-driven, impact-heavy role where you can rapidly test ideas in live production environments, influence data-centric methodologies for top AI labs, and help define how high-quality data drives the next generation of AI systems.

Responsibilities

  • Research data collection strategies and design high-impact data slices to uncover model failure modes.
  • Model annotator behavior and design experiments to optimize instruction clarity and reward signal reliability.
  • Develop metrics and frameworks for evaluating dataset quality, diversity, and impact on downstream model alignment.

Requirements

  • Deep curiosity about data and how its structure, quality, and selection influence LLM performance.
  • A bias toward insight and iteration, with the ability to think critically and move fast.
  • A desire to shape AI development by building the foundational data layer for next-generation AI systems.
