Stripe is seeking Master's machine learning engineering interns for the summer of 2027. This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to critical projects that enhance Stripe's products, with a focus on foundation models for tasks like fraud detection, customer support, and user behavior prediction. Interns will tackle complex challenges at the intersection of finance, technology, and data, working on innovative projects such as the Stripe Assistant and the Stripe Foundation Model to transform how businesses engage with financial services and data.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy large-scale machine learning systems for significant business impact.
- Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of designing, training, improving, and launching ML models.
- Write production-scale ML models to support Stripe's global economic infrastructure.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, incorporating feedback and proactively solving challenges.
- Rapidly learn new technologies and approaches, asking insightful questions and effectively communicating work status.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with an expected graduation in Winter 2027 or Spring/Summer 2028.
- Demonstrated practical experience in programming and machine learning through projects, coursework, or research.
- Familiarity with programming languages like Python and Scala, and libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, and Scikit-learn.
- Expertise in machine learning areas including supervised and unsupervised learning, ML operations, and potentially LLMs or Reinforcement Learning.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
- Proactive in learning unfamiliar systems and independently understanding complex systems.
- Intent to return to a degree program after the internship.
