Socratix AI is building AI coworkers for fraud, financial crime, and compliance teams. Our agents investigate transactions and users around the clock, gathering evidence across various data sources to provide a complete picture for each case. As one of the first engineers, you will shape the technical foundation of the company, designing and shipping production AI agents that automate real investigations and produce decisions trusted by regulators. This is a high-impact role with significant growth potential, where you will define how agentic AI transforms financial crime operations.
Responsibilities
- Build AI agents end-to-end, including LLM orchestration, tool use, retrieval, and multi-agent workflows.
- Own and develop the layer that ensures agent trustworthiness, including evaluation harnesses, guardrails, audit trails, and human-in-the-loop review.
- Ship production-grade AI agents quickly and iterate based on user feedback and direct customer contact.
- Experiment with new models, techniques, and tooling to improve agent performance.
- Translate cutting-edge AI model capabilities into production-ready features for real-world fraud cases.
- Collaborate with founders to shape the product roadmap and company strategy.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability as a systems thinker, considering data flow, failure modes, latency, cost, and scalability.
- Proven experience shipping real-world systems with LLMs, whether production systems, prototypes, or significant side projects.
- Strong engineering fundamentals, with the ability to design, ship, debug, and operate production systems end-to-end.
- Experience as a 0 to 1 builder, comfortable with ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
- Approximately 2-4 years of engineering experience, or a portfolio demonstrating equivalent skills.
- Curiosity about fintech, fraud detection, or building AI in regulated environments.
