Optexity is a product-driven research lab building clinical reasoning and computer use models on proprietary data obtained directly from clinics and hospitals. We provide integration infrastructure, enabling us to become a preferred partner and gain access to unique clinical reasoning trajectories from physicians. This creates a feedback loop between patient encounters, our models, and the products built upon them. We are a small, fast-moving founding team with a background from top tech companies and academic institutions, backed by prominent investors.
Responsibilities
- Work with proprietary clinical data to surface insights shaping model and product direction.
- Build clinical reasoning models to improve physician and clinic workflows.
- Design and publish benchmarks highlighting LLM limitations in clinical reasoning.
- Evaluate computer-use models on real-world tasks.
- Own the end-to-end training and evaluation pipeline.
- Solve open-ended problems from conception to a working model with minimal structure.
- Document findings in technical reports and papers.
Requirements
- Demonstrated research experience, including problem definition.
- Experience training models (beyond fine-tuning APIs).
- Fluency in Python.
- Master's degree or higher in Machine Learning or a related field.
- Enthusiasm for open-ended problems and ambiguity.
- Desire to publish research.
- Ability to take ownership and work independently.
- Preference for a startup environment over large tech companies.
