Optexity is a product-driven research lab focused on building clinical reasoning and computer use models using unique, proprietary data obtained directly from clinics and hospitals. We integrate with clinical systems to access real-world physician reasoning trajectories, creating a feedback loop between patient encounters, our models, and product development. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with exclusive clinical data, define research agendas, and have direct access to founders, compute resources, and the ability to move quickly from idea to experiment.
Responsibilities
- Work with proprietary clinical data to derive insights for model and product development.
- Build clinical reasoning models to enhance physician and clinic workflows.
- Design and publish benchmarks to identify limitations of current LLMs in clinical reasoning.
- Evaluate computer-use models on real-world tasks.
- Manage the end-to-end training and evaluation pipeline.
- Solve open-ended problems from conception to a working model with minimal predefined structure.
- Document findings in technical reports and papers.
Requirements
- Possess real research experience, including problem definition.
- Experience training models (beyond fine-tuning APIs).
- Fluency in Python.
- Master's degree or higher in Machine Learning or a related field.
- Comfort with open-ended problems and ambiguity.
- Desire to publish research findings.
- Ability to take ownership and work independently.
- Preference for a startup environment over large tech companies.
