About the job
TrueMeter is building the AI Energy Agent to revolutionize how businesses pay for and save on energy. As the grid faces unprecedented demand from AI and electrification, businesses struggle with rising energy costs and unpredictability. TrueMeter offers a solution by transforming complex utility bills into a simple, cost-effective, fixed-price subscription powered by AI. Having launched their MVP in May 2024 and already securing millions in energy bills from major brands, TrueMeter is experiencing rapid growth and seeking elite AI-native engineers to scale their innovative platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to own data and AI infrastructure end-to-end, working directly with the CTO to shape the company's data flow from raw telemetry to business impact in a fast-paced startup environment.
Responsibilities
- Build high-reliability data pipelines and APIs to connect to dozens of utilities and public energy sources.
- Architect databases and ingestion systems for time-series energy data, billing, and telemetry.
- Design GCP infrastructure (e.g., BigQuery, Cloud SQL, Secret Manager) for scale and cost efficiency.
- Build infrastructure that enables coding agents and AI tools to automate workflows across the stack.
- Set up CI/CD, observability, and automation for rapid and clean shipping.
- Document, communicate, and collaborate across tech and business teams, translating technical work into understandable impact metrics.
Requirements
- Curious, self-taught, and excited about pushing the boundaries of LLMs and agents in real systems.
- Ability to ship an MVP quickly and iterate into a robust solution.
- Choose tools based on logic, not hype, to build efficient and cost-effective infrastructure.
- Ability to explain work clearly to both engineers and executives.
- Independent executor who can define, scope, and deliver projects without constant supervision.
- Awareness of startup environments, including changing priorities and the thrill of problem-solving.
- Ambitious and deeply committed to impact, willing to work hard to build something significant.
- Experience building production data systems using Python, TypeScript, GCP, and SQL/NoSQL.
- Enthusiasm for learning new tools.
Benefits
- Real ownership, not just tasks.
- Opportunity to design systems that last.
- Work ships in days, not quarters.
- Help shape a company redefining energy management.
