Speak is seeking a contract Curriculum Designer/Content Writer to join their Content team. This role will focus on planning and developing high-quality language learning content for Korean speakers learning Japanese. The ideal candidate will develop, edit, and localize innovative, engaging, and pedagogically sound materials. We are looking for individuals with a deep understanding of spoken fluency development and language learning, experience in teaching or developing learning modules, and a strong sense of how teaching and technology can be integrated to create exceptional content. This is a 6-month contract position with flexible working hours and location, though preference is for the candidate to be based in South Korea.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Korean-Japanese curriculum and high-priority content projects end-to-end, from planning to launch.
  • Develop, edit, and localize content that is effective, culturally appropriate, and aligned with Speak's brand philosophy for Korean learners of Japanese.
  • Iterate and improve content based on QA, user testing, user feedback, and peer review.
  • Utilize AI-enabled workflows to streamline content production and improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Native-level Korean proficiency with strong cultural intuition for the Korean market.
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese (spoken and written).
  • Experience in Japanese education content planning, development, or instructional design.
  • Deep understanding of Korean learner needs and Japanese-learning challenges.
  • Ability to independently manage projects and make sound decisions with minimal oversight.
  • Strong technical fluency with modern tools and ability to quickly learn new systems.
  • Clear communication skills regarding scope and trade-offs, and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Must be based in Korea and willing to commit to a 6-month contract, with potential for extension.
  • Ability to communicate in English with global teams (nice-to-have).
  • Experience improving content based on data analytics (nice-to-have).
