Speak is seeking a talented multilingual superstar with expertise in translation and localization to join our team. This role will primarily focus on localizing our in-app content for the Korean market, with a secondary focus on creating high-quality Simplified Chinese content for the same market, supported by training. We are looking for an individual with excellent oral and written communication skills in both Korean and Simplified Chinese, a deep linguistic understanding of these languages, and professional proficiency in English. Responsibilities
- Translate and localize in-app learning and marketing content from Korean to Simplified Chinese from a pedagogical perspective.
- Iterate and polish translated/localized content based on QA tasks to ensure an optimal learning experience for Korean learners of Simplified Chinese.
- Design and write in-app learning materials, such as lesson scripts, activities, and vocabulary lists, for Korean learners of Simplified Chinese at various proficiency levels.
- Support content-related projects, including uploading scripts, QAing lessons, and coordinating operational tasks.
- Communicate effectively with international team members, receive direction, implement instructions, and complete projects.
Requirements
- Native Simplified Chinese and native or near-native English writing and speaking skills.
- Deep understanding of both Simplified Chinese and Korean languages and the current landscape of Simplified Chinese learning in Korea.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in Korean-Simplified Chinese translation and localization.
- Experience in Simplified Chinese teaching, language pedagogy, or curriculum design.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and agency.
- Passion for technology-assisted language learning and a willingness to learn and use advanced technologies.
- Working proficiency in English.
- Ability to learn quickly, work effectively in a team, communicate skillfully, and solve problems creatively.
- Experience working in educational technology (EdTech) is preferred.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs, generators, internal tools) to create instructionally sound, pedagogically aligned, and scalable learning materials is preferred.
