Speak is seeking a talented multilingual superstar with skills in translation and localization to join our team. The primary focus of this role will be to localize our in-app content for the Japanese market. A secondary contribution will involve creating high-quality Korean content for the Japanese market, with provided training and support. We are looking for an expert with excellent oral and written communication skills in both Japanese and Korean, a deep linguistic understanding of both languages, and professional proficiency in English.
Responsibilities
- Translate and localize in-app learning and marketing content from Japanese to Korean from a pedagogical perspective.
- Iterate and polish translated/localized content based on QA tasks to optimize the learning experience for Korean learners.
- Design and write in-app learning materials, such as lesson scripts, activities, and vocabulary lists, for Korean learners of Simplified Chinese.
- Support content-related projects, including uploading scripts, QAing lessons, and coordinating operational tasks.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with international team members, receive directions, implement instructions, and complete projects.
Requirements
- Native Japanese and native or near-native Korean writing and speaking skills.
- Deep understanding of both Korean and Japanese languages and the status quo of Korean learning in Japan.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in Japanese-Korean translation and localization.
- Experience in Korean teaching, language pedagogy, or curriculum design.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and agency.
- Passion for technology-assisted language learning and willingness to learn and use advanced technologies.
- Working proficiency in English.
- Ability to learn quickly, work as a team player, communicate effectively, and solve problems creatively.
- Experience working in educational technology (EdTech) is preferred.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs, generators, internal tools) for creating learning materials is preferred.
