Speak is seeking a talented multilingual superstar with expertise in translation and localization to join our team. The primary focus will be on localizing our in-app content for the Traditional Chinese market, with a secondary contribution to creating high-quality Japanese content for the same market. We are looking for an individual with excellent oral and written communication skills in both Traditional Chinese and Japanese, alongside professional proficiency in English, and a deep linguistic understanding of both languages.
Responsibilities
- Translate and localize in-app learning and marketing content from Traditional Chinese to Japanese from a pedagogical perspective.
- Iterate and polish translated/localized content based on QA tasks to ensure an optimal learning experience.
- Design and write in-app learning materials, such as lesson scripts and activities, for Japanese learners of Traditional Chinese.
- Support content-related projects, including script uploading and lesson QA.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with international team members, receiving directions and completing projects.
Requirements
- Native Traditional Chinese and native or near-native Japanese writing and speaking skills.
- Deep understanding of both Japanese and Traditional Chinese languages and the current landscape of Japanese learning in Traditional Chinese.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in Traditional Chinese-Japanese translation and localization.
- Experience in Japanese teaching, language pedagogy, or curriculum design.
- Excellent attention to detail with a strong sense of ownership and agency.
- Passion for technology-assisted language learning and a willingness to learn and use advanced technologies.
- Working proficiency in English.
- Ability to learn quickly, work as a team player, communicate effectively, and solve problems creatively.
- Experience working in educational technology (EdTech) is preferred.
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., LLMs, generators, internal tools) for creating learning materials is preferred.
