About the job
Snorkel AI is seeking talented and versatile Product Engineers to join their team. In this role, you will build end-to-end products, from front-end interfaces to the powering APIs and services, simplifying sophisticated workflows for users. You will collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to translate complex requirements into elegant, high-quality experiences, working fluidly across the entire technology stack. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical depth in React and TypeScript, a sharp product sense, and a passion for building intuitive software.
Responsibilities
- Build, ship, and maintain high-quality product features with full ownership from design through production, working across the front end and supporting services.
- Enable operations teams by building abstractions and tools for safe use of agent workflows.
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and engineers to define and implement solutions.
- Contribute to architecture decisions across the stack, advocating for scalability, maintainability, and clean code.
- Drive best practices for accessibility, responsiveness, and cross-browser compatibility.
- Design and build APIs and services where needed, ensuring clean contracts between front end and back end.
- Participate in and contribute to code reviews to improve codebase quality.
- Proactively identify technical challenges and propose solutions for the product engineering ecosystem.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance and production issues across the stack.
- Work a hybrid schedule with at least three days per week in the San Francisco, CA or New York City office.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience in software engineering.
- Strong depth in React and TypeScript.
- Solid full-stack or front-end fundamentals.
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and modern CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind).
- Experience with state management libraries (e.g., Redux, React Context API).
- Comfort designing and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Sufficient back-end fluency (Node.js, Python, or similar) to build or extend services.
- Experience with responsive design, adaptive design, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code in a product environment.
- Strong communication skills to articulate technical decisions to cross-functional partners.
- Ability to prototype and iterate quickly on sophisticated user workflows.
- Comfort working independently and making scoped technical decisions.
- Experience collaborating in an agile, cross-functional team environment.
