Sierra is building a platform to enable companies to create better, more human customer experiences with AI. As an Agent Strategist, you will own the entire lifecycle of Sierra's AI agents, from initial concept and design to production deployment and continuous iteration. You will sit at the intersection of product development and customer engagement, working closely with both the technology and the people who use it. Your role involves transforming complex customer problems into effective AI agents that measurably improve business outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Own the Agent Development Life Cycle, from initial scope through conversation design, tooling, evaluation, launch, and iteration.
- Translate business goals into agent performance that exceeds expectations and continuously tune agents for optimal real-world performance.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders, understanding their business objectives and shaping AI strategies to achieve them.
- Partner with customer working teams on a daily basis, running working sessions, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring projects stay on track for launch.
- Identify and communicate unmet customer needs to research and platform teams to influence future product development.
- Scope and launch AI agents for specific business challenges, such as customer retention or personalized commerce experiences.
- Redesign conversation flows for complex or regulated interactions to improve agent performance and drive production deployments.
- Collaborate with product teams on new capabilities, using live customers as design partners.
- Define and utilize evaluation metrics to drive measurable improvements in agent outcomes.
Requirements
- Customer obsession with energy for engaging with customers, understanding their businesses, and building trusted relationships.
- Clear, direct, and persuasive communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong strategic problem-solving and critical-thinking skills to navigate ambiguity and adapt to rapid changes.
- Technical aptitude to engage with technical concepts, read API documentation, understand data models and system architecture, and follow engineering trade-offs.
- Proven track record of owning and delivering multiple complex, high-visibility projects to successful outcomes.
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM agents in production, including hands-on experience with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, and prompt engineering.
- Experience as a founder, founding team member, or operator, balancing craft, ownership, and speed.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, and/or an MBA or comparable experience at the intersection of technology and business.
