Sierra is building a platform to enable companies to create better, more human customer experiences with AI. As an Agent Strategist, you will own the entire lifecycle of Sierra's AI agents, from initial concept and design to production deployment and ongoing iteration. You will work at the intersection of product development, agent building, and customer engagement, staying closely connected to both the technology and the people you serve. Your role involves transforming complex customer challenges into effective AI agents that deliver measurable business impact. You will be a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders, understanding their business objectives and shaping AI strategies to achieve them, while also partnering closely with customer teams on a day-to-day basis to ensure successful agent implementation and performance.
Responsibilities
- Own the Agent Development Life Cycle from initial scope through conversation design, tooling, evaluation, launch, and continuous iteration.
- Translate business goals into high-performing AI agents and tune them for optimal real-world performance.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders, understanding their business needs and shaping AI strategies.
- Partner with customer working teams, run working sessions, troubleshoot issues, and manage the build process towards launch.
- Surface unmet customer needs to research and platform teams to influence future product development.
Requirements
- Customer obsession with energy for understanding customer businesses and needs, thriving in complex organizations, and building trusted relationships.
- Clear, direct, and persuasive communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills for strategic problem-solving in ambiguous environments.
- Technical aptitude to engage with technical concepts, read API documentation, understand data models and system architecture, and follow engineering tradeoffs.
- Proven track record of managing multiple complex, high-visibility projects simultaneously and driving them to successful outcomes.
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM agents in production, including hands-on experience with relevant tools (eval frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, prompt engineering).
- Experience as a founder, founding team member, or operator balancing craft, ownership, and speed.
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, and/or an MBA or comparable experience at the intersection of technology and business.
