Sierra is building a platform to enable companies to create better, more human customer experiences with AI. As an Agent Strategist, you will be responsible for bringing Sierra's AI agents to life for customers, guiding them from initial pilot phases to production-level deployment handling thousands of daily conversations. This role sits at the intersection of product development, agent building, and customer engagement, requiring a deep understanding of both the technology and the user's needs. You will transform complex business challenges into effective AI agents that deliver measurable business impact.
Responsibilities
- Own the entire Agent Development Life Cycle, from initial scope and conversation design to tooling, evaluation, launch, and continuous iteration in production.
- Translate business goals into high-performing AI agents and relentlessly tune them for optimal real-world performance.
- Serve as a trusted strategic advisor to enterprise leaders, understanding their business objectives and shaping AI strategies to achieve success.
- Partner with customer working teams on a day-to-day basis, running working sessions, troubleshooting agent issues, and ensuring timely launch.
- Surface unmet customer needs and feed them back to research and platform teams to influence future product development.
Requirements
- Demonstrated customer obsession with energy for understanding customer businesses and needs, thriving in complex organizations, and building trusted relationships.
- Clear, direct, and persuasive communication skills across both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong strategic problem-solving abilities with analytical and critical-thinking skills to break down complex issues, identify risks, and adapt to rapid changes.
- Technical aptitude to engage with technical concepts, read API documentation, understand data models and system architecture, and follow engineering tradeoffs.
- Proven track record of ownership and delivery, managing multiple complex, high-visibility projects simultaneously to successful outcomes.
- Experience building or deploying AI/LLM agents in production, including hands-on experience with evaluation frameworks, agent tooling, RAG, and prompt engineering.
- Experience as a founder, founding team member, or operator, balancing craft, ownership, and speed.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience, and/or an MBA or comparable experience at the intersection of technology and business.
