Responsibilities
- Own frontend development across product and marketing interfaces, ensuring a cohesive and polished user experience.
- Build features for the web application and collaborate on customer-facing web pages.
- Design, build, and maintain a scalable design system and reusable UI component library.
- Collaborate with designers to establish guidelines and patterns for UI development.
- Translate Figma designs into pixel-perfect user experiences with delightful interactions.
- Refine UI patterns, paying close attention to typography, spacing, motion, and hover states.
- Set and uphold high standards for frontend performance, accessibility, and code quality.
- Optimize frontend for speed, ensuring smooth rendering and efficient loading.
- Ensure product works flawlessly across browsers and devices, incorporating accessibility and internationalization best practices.
- Iterate quickly to ship improvements and new features in a startup environment.
- Make thoughtful engineering trade-offs balancing rapid delivery with maintainability and polish.
- Integrate frontend features with the GraphQL API and occasionally update server-side code (Go/gqlgen) as needed.
- Contribute across the stack to deliver a great end-to-end product experience.
Requirements
- Extensive experience (5+ years) building web interfaces using React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Proven track record of shipping polished user interfaces in production products.
- Experience with Tailwind or similar modern CSS frameworks is a plus.
- Keen eye for good design and deep care for user experience details.
- Passion for software craftsmanship and attention to detail in UI creation.
- Ability to work closely with designers and product managers to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Clear communication about tradeoffs and solutions, and openness to feedback.
- Intensely goal-oriented and proactive, able to take ownership with minimal guidance.
- Experience thriving in fast-paced environments and delivering projects quickly.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and complexity, breaking down problems into workable solutions.
- Pragmatic approach to engineering, making effective trade-offs between ideal solutions and deliverables.
- Ability to choose the best tool for the job and learn new technologies as needed.
- Solid understanding of backend fundamentals, including web APIs, databases, and servers.
- Ability to read and write backend code when necessary.
