Sierra is building a platform to enable companies to create better, more human customer experiences with AI. We are seeking an SEO Manager to define and execute our SEO strategy, aiming to capture and maintain top rankings across traditional search engines and AI answer engines to drive organic growth. This role involves building and scaling an AI-powered content engine, optimizing website performance and authority, and leading our AI search strategy (AEO/GEO) to ensure content is cited in AI-generated answers. You will measure and communicate SEO impact, connecting rankings, traffic, leads, and pipeline to optimize investments based on business outcomes. This is a primarily in-person role based in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute SEO strategy to capture and maintain top rankings across search and AI answer engines.
- Build and scale an AI-powered content engine for high-quality content and gated assets.
- Optimize website performance and authority, including technical SEO, site architecture, page speed, and backlink strategy.
- Lead AI search strategy (AEO/GEO) to ensure content is cited in AI-generated answers.
- Measure and communicate SEO impact, connecting rankings, traffic, leads, and pipeline to business outcomes.
- Partner with Product Marketing, Campaigns, and the web team to translate search insights into ranked assets and implement technical changes.
- Collaborate with the performance team to integrate organic resources into their programs.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of SEO experience driving organic growth for B2B and technical audiences.
- Proven track record of improving rankings, organic visibility, and pipeline.
- Deep technical SEO expertise (site architecture, crawlability, indexation, page performance, structured data/schema markup).
- Experience optimizing content for both traditional search engines and AI/LLM discovery.
- Strong content strategy and editorial judgment, with ability to create high-quality content for enterprise buyers.
- Proficiency with Google Search Console, GA, Ahrefs/Semrush, LLM rank tracking, and analytics tools.
- Strategic, data-driven mindset to translate SEO data into actionable business insights.
- Self-starter motivated to build and own a scalable, pipeline-focused SEO function.
