Sierra is seeking a hands-on IT Infrastructure Engineer to join their growing team and help scale internal systems. This is an engineering-first role where you will approach IT challenges with a focus on code, automation, and well-designed systems, similar to how product engineering teams build software. You will be instrumental in building and operating the systems that support the company's day-to-day operations, including developing internal tools, shipping integrations, and managing identity, security, and infrastructure at scale through CI/CD-style workflows. This foundational role offers significant ownership, allowing you to design and implement core infrastructure, strengthen security controls, and enhance operational efficiency through automation and scalable solutions.
Responsibilities
- Iterate on and improve internal tools for IT and security workflows
- Deploy a DLP solution and integrate it into automated enforcement pipelines
- Build API-driven integrations between internal systems and compliance automation platforms
- Design and scale internal infrastructure using code and infrastructure-as-code practices
- Build and maintain internal tools and services
- Improve and develop automation pipelines for provisioning, access management, and security controls
- Treat IT systems like software: versioned, tested, and continuously improved
- Partner with Platform Engineering and Security to implement scalable, programmatic solutions
- Create clear, durable documentation for long-term scalability
Requirements
- Approach IT problems as engineering problems, prioritizing building over manual work
- Strong experience with identity platforms (Okta, Google Workspace, SSO, MFA, SCIM, OIDC)
- Experience deploying or managing DLP or related security solutions (e.g., ZTNA, Cloudflare)
- Extensive experience with IaC (Terraform)
- Comfortable writing code for automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or similar)
- Experience building internal tools or services that integrate via APIs
- Comfortable working with CI/CD concepts and automation pipelines
- Fluent in using and administering modern AI tooling
- Understand SaaS lifecycle management and compliance requirements
- Communicate clearly and document systems well
- Comfortable operating independently in a fast-moving environment
