Scale is seeking Senior Software Engineers to join our Public Sector team. You will build core product components that enable forward-deployed teams to develop agentic capabilities across multiple domains. This involves creating systems to ingest and process federal datasets for real-time decision-making in challenging environments. You will lead the development of new agentic capabilities, including multi-layered guardrails, optimized data retrieval, orchestration of asynchronous agents, automated deviation alerts, and decision-path illustration.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable backend systems and distributed architectures for Federal customers.
- Manage the full lifecycle of feature development from requirement definition to deployment on classified networks.
- Direct the orchestration of asynchronous agent fleets to meet mission requirements.
- Lead customer engagements to translate mission needs into technical requirements.
- Own communication with stakeholders to ensure implementation meets defined acceptance criteria.
- Conduct technical reviews and identify risks within machine learning infrastructure and model serving.
- Drive the platform roadmap by providing technical specifications for Federal product offerings.
Requirements
- Proficiency in full-stack development, including front-end, back-end, and infrastructure.
- Experience with modern web development frameworks, programming languages, and databases.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native environments.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes) is a plus.
- Knowledge of ETL processes and experience building data pipelines.
- Understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data governance principles.
- Familiarity with integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) and building agentic workflows.
- Understanding of prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and agent orchestration is beneficial.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to embrace new technologies and adapt to evolving project requirements.
