Scale AI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Generative AI Data Engine team. This role is crucial in accelerating the development of AI applications by powering the world's most advanced LLMs and generative models. You will work on high-impact datasets, optimize contributor onboarding, and ensure data integrity through advanced trust, safety, and security measures. This position operates at the intersection of ML, operations, and analytics to deliver high-quality data at scale, contributing to the future of human-AI interaction.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable full-stack systems (front-end, back-end, infrastructure).
- Implement high-impact features using modern technologies.
- Collaborate with internal operators to identify bottlenecks and deliver solutions.
- Own core systems critical to the contributor platform, impacting the GenAI data pipeline.
- Architect and scale infrastructure for millions of weekly tasks with high reliability.
- Partner with ML teams, Forward Deployed Engineers, and Product on data quality and operational excellence.
- Contribute to engineering culture through mentorship, code reviews, and process improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in high-growth, product-focused environments.
- Proven track record of shipping production systems at scale.
- Drive reliability and performance across critical infrastructure systems.
- Strong technical depth in front-end frameworks, distributed systems, data infrastructure, or developer tooling.
- Experience working across the stack with technologies like React, TypeScript, Node.js, Python, MongoDB, Elasticsearch, and/or Temporal.
- Strong product sense and ability to translate ambiguous problems into technical solutions.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment.
