Scale is seeking New Grad Software Engineers to join their mission of developing reliable AI systems. In this role, you will own meaningful, customer-facing work from day one, shipping products, interacting directly with customers, and iterating quickly. You will contribute to building and deploying AI applications that deliver real impact for enterprises and governments.
Responsibilities
- Build reinforcement learning and post-training data pipelines for frontier model development.
- Develop evaluation infrastructure to measure model reliability for enterprise and public sector customers.
- Ship agentic AI applications and the associated tooling for observability, testing, and safe deployment.
- Ship tools to accelerate the growth of qualified contributors on Scale's platform.
- Build fraud-detection systems to maintain the safety and trust of Scale's contributor base.
- Utilize models to estimate task and contributor quality at scale.
- Devise advanced matching algorithms to pair contributors with customers for optimal results.
- Create optimized UI/UX tooling combined with ML algorithms for a large contributor base.
- Develop new AI infrastructure products for visualizing, querying, and exploring Scale data.
- Build a customer service RAG application to handle a high volume of daily inquiries.
- Integrate cutting-edge ML models for churn prediction into customer retention systems.
Requirements
- Graduation date in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 with a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (Computer Science, EECS, Computer Engineering, Statistics).
- Product engineering experience, including full-stack web app development, API integration, customer interaction, and product iteration.
- Previous Product/Software Engineering internship experience.
- Proven track record of shipping high-quality products and features at scale.
- Experience building systems that process large volumes of data.
- Experience with Python, Typescript, React, and/or MongoDB.
