Sarvam is building India's full-stack sovereign AI platform, focusing on research, models, infrastructure, and applications to make AI work for India. As a Strategic Deployment Engineer, you will be embedded with clients, owning the entire lifecycle of AI system deployments in complex and often constrained environments like air-gapped or on-premise settings. You will act as the primary technical point of contact for your assigned accounts, with success measured by system functionality, client trust, and durable capability creation, rather than just ticket closure. This role offers significant autonomy and accountability for the system, client relationship, and overall outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end deployment of Sarvam's AI stack in client environments, including on-prem, air-gapped, and classified infrastructure.
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for assigned accounts throughout the deployment lifecycle.
  • Diagnose and resolve integration failures, model drift, inference issues, and infrastructure problems independently.
  • Gather field learnings to inform product development and the replicable deployment library.
  • Manage deployment pipelines, model serving, and environment configuration in constrained settings.
  • Drive client adoption through documentation, training, and operational handover.
  • Own client satisfaction metrics like CSAT, time-to-value, and uptime, proactively flagging risks.

Requirements

  • 3-6 years in software or ML engineering with at least one full-cycle on-prem or enterprise deployment.
  • Production-grade experience with Python, Docker, Linux systems administration, REST APIs, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Hands-on experience with LLM inference stacks (e.g., vLLM, TGI, Ollama) and RAG architectures/vector stores.
  • Experience deploying in constrained environments (air-gapped, limited connectivity, non-standard hardware, regulatory requirements).
  • Full-stack debugging skills across infrastructure, networking, and application layers.
  • Demonstrated ability to ship and maintain a working system end-to-end in high-reliability environments.
  • Proven ability to navigate ambiguous client requirements and make independent decisions.
