SambaNova is seeking a Software Architect to join the SambaStack platform team. This role involves defining the technical direction and architectural strategy for an AI inference platform that serves enterprise AI workloads on SambaNova's RDU hardware. You will own cross-cutting architectural decisions, ensuring the platform meets enterprise-grade standards for scalability, reliability, and performance. This is a high-impact position at the intersection of AI infrastructure, enterprise software, systems architecture, and developer experience.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end technical architecture of the SambaStack inference platform.
- Define and drive architectural strategy across engineering teams.
- Lead design reviews for major new capabilities and system changes.
- Proactively identify and resolve systemic risks in performance, reliability, and scaling.
- Establish and evolve architectural standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into architectural decisions.
- Serve as a technical thought leader and mentor to Software Engineers.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends for the platform's roadmap.
- Architect new systems, components, and capabilities for AI inference.
Requirements
- 12+ years of software engineering experience with organization-wide technical influence.
- Proven track record of owning large-scale distributed systems architectures.
- Expertise building backend systems in Python, Go, or Rust.
- Expert-level understanding of Kubernetes (Operators, Helm Charts, cluster resource management).
- Strong command of distributed systems principles (consistency, fault tolerance, observability, performance).
- Demonstrated experience setting technical direction across multiple teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Track record of mentoring junior engineers and elevating team quality.
