About the job
Salesforce is seeking a Software Engineering SMTS to join their Product Core team. They also enable customers and partners to extend the product through APIs and webhooks. The role involves building the data, context, and execution capabilities behind agentic product experiences, such as meeting preparation and routing investigation. As a technical leader, you will drive complex initiatives from design to production, shape architecture, write production code, and influence technical direction.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex product initiatives from problem definition through technical design, implementation, launch, and ongoing ownership.
- Build reliable meeting-booking, calendaring, routing, and workflow experiences that impact customer conversion and revenue.
- Develop and maintain integrations with CRM, marketing automation, sales engagement, collaboration, calendaring, and data-enrichment platforms.
- Create intuitive public APIs and reliable webhooks for product extension by customers and partners.
- Design solutions that account for the complexities of third-party systems, including API limits, authentication, data inconsistencies, and error handling.
- Advance AI-assisted capabilities such as meeting preparation, routing investigation, and product behavior explanations.
- Enhance the scalability, observability, security, and supportability of critical production systems.
- Address and resolve difficult customer issues by identifying root causes.
- Improve engineering standards through technical leadership, design and code reviews, and mentorship.
Requirements
- Proven ability to independently deliver complex SaaS capabilities from design through launch and operation.
- Strong full-stack skills with expertise in backend systems, APIs, relational data models, and background processing.
- Experience building or operating integrations with complex third-party platforms.
- Sound technical judgment regarding reliability, data integrity, security, and incremental system evolution.
- Excellent debugging skills across application, integration, and data layers.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, influencing architecture and execution beyond immediate tasks.
- Comfort operating in ambiguous environments and driving clarity by framing problems, proposing solutions, and aligning stakeholders.
- Product-minded approach, focusing on user experience and customer outcomes.
- Experience with modern web frameworks (Rails/React/Postgres/AWS is a plus).
