About the job
As an engineer on the Data Team, you will operate as a technical leader on the foundational layer of the platform. This team owns Qualified's data end-to-end, including leads and accounts data models, ETL pipelines, Data 360, Salesforce sync, analytics and insights, data integrations, and Data APIs. Every product area and AI agent depends on this layer being correct, fresh, and fast. This is a newer team with significant greenfield opportunities, where you will shape the architecture of core pipelines and data models, set patterns for other teams, and transform inherited systems into a coherent platform. You will also directly contribute to the intelligence of AI agents by ensuring the data they rely on is accurate and flows seamlessly between systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship end-to-end data systems, including models, pipelines, sync, and serving layers.
- Drive technical design for high-volume, multi-component systems like ETL, event streaming, analytics stores, and APIs, focusing on correctness, freshness, and operational excellence.
- Own Salesforce data flows at an enterprise scale.
- Build the analytics and insights infrastructure for customer-facing reporting and internal decision-making.
- Define and enforce data quality standards, including SLOs, data contracts, and observability.
- Manage delivery from scope and design through launch, monitoring, and iterative improvement.
- Partner with product teams and engineering leadership to establish data as a core platform capability.
- Enhance team effectiveness through mentoring, technical guidance, code reviews, and process improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience building and operating production data systems at scale, including pipelines, data models, or high-volume backend services.
- Strong depth in areas such as PostgreSQL at scale, OLAP systems (e.g., ClickHouse), CDC and event streaming, ETL orchestration, or data modeling for CRM-shaped domains.
- Demonstrated technical leadership, influencing architecture and execution beyond your immediate workstream.
- Track record of delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders, dependencies, or phases.
- Comfort operating in ambiguity and driving clarity in a new team environment.
- Pragmatic approach to reliability, considering data contracts, backfills, idempotency, and failure scenarios.
- Experience with modern tech stacks (Rails/Postgres/AWS is a plus).
