About the job
We are seeking Research Engineers to own the data behind our world models, focusing on what models learn from, how well they learn it, and the new capabilities this unlocks. You will design datasets, run modeling experiments, and build the infrastructure to generate and curate data at scale. This role directly shapes our models' capabilities, with applications spanning creative tools to robotics, contributing to our mission of building AI that simulates the world.
Responsibilities
- Design multimodal, multitask datasets to teach world models new capabilities, including data collection, generation, curation, and impact measurement.
- Conduct controlled training experiments to analyze how data composition influences model performance across various tasks and domains.
- Build and manage large-scale pipelines for synthetic data generation, filtering, and quality control.
- Define evaluations and benchmarks to measure model improvement on key objectives.
- Collaborate with product and creative teams to translate desired behaviors into concrete data strategies.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in machine learning, with a preference for data-centric approaches.
- Experience with large multimodal datasets and generative models (video, image, or multimodal).
- Strong understanding of how data composition and quality impact model capabilities.
- Proficiency across the research stack: data analysis, dataset creation, model training, and evaluation.
- Proficiency in at least one ML framework (e.g., PyTorch, JAX) and distributed compute tools (e.g., Ray, Kubernetes).
- Enthusiasm for building AI that simulates the world.
