Replit is seeking a highly technical, data-driven Growth Engineer to help scale its product and expand key user metrics across acquisition, activation, retention, and monetization. This role sits at the intersection of engineering, product, and marketing, leveraging code, experimentation, and analytics to uncover opportunities and deliver measurable impact. The ideal candidate will drive experimentation and optimization by designing, implementing, and analyzing A/B and multivariate tests, and identify bottlenecks in user funnels to improve conversion rates. They will also build and scale growth-oriented product features like onboarding flows and referral systems, ensuring scalable code and infrastructure. Collaboration with data teams for tracking, dashboards, and user behavior analysis, along with leveraging SQL and analytics tools, is crucial. The role involves close partnership with product managers, designers, marketers, and data scientists to align on growth goals and translate business objectives into technical requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and analyze A/B and multivariate tests to validate hypotheses and improve key KPIs.
- Identify user funnel bottlenecks and develop technical solutions to improve conversion rates.
- Build growth-oriented product features such as onboarding flows and referral systems.
- Develop scalable code and infrastructure to support growth initiatives and experimentation frameworks.
- Collaborate with data teams to instrument tracking, build dashboards, and derive insights from user behavior data.
- Analyze cohorts, engagement metrics, and experiment outcomes using SQL and analytics tools.
- Partner with product managers, designers, marketers, and data scientists to align on growth goals.
- Translate business goals into technical requirements and implement pragmatic solutions.
- Stay updated on industry trends and propose new tactics to accelerate growth.
- Automate repetitive tasks and build internal tools to empower faster experimentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Strong programming skills in Node, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go.
- Experience with data analysis and database query languages like SQL.
- Familiarity with instrumentation, analytics tools (e.g., Amplitude), and experimentation frameworks.
- Comfort with designing and interpreting experiments grounded in statistical thinking.
