Replit is seeking a Senior AI Builder to design, architect, and ship AI-powered internal platforms that run the company's operations across multiple departments. This role requires a builder with substantial autonomy who can tackle ambiguous business problems, understand them deeply, and deliver software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of business mechanics, revenue generation, and operational challenges across various functions like People Operations, Customer Support, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Recruiting. Experience running a business or working in a fast-scaling startup is highly valued, emphasizing ownership, shipping with incomplete information, and driving outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Design, architect, and ship custom AI-powered internal platforms for various company departments.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into technical specifications, architectures, and shipped software.
- Own end-to-end platform development, including front-end, back-end, data models, integrations, and AI orchestration.
- Architect multi-stage AI pipelines using LLMs, including prompt engineering, tool-call architecture, RAG, and agentic workflows.
- Select and evaluate AI models from various providers based on cost, latency, quality, and reliability.
- Design and implement evaluation frameworks for AI features to ensure production reliability.
- Optimize AI systems for cost and performance.
- Understand the goals, constraints, and metrics of internal departments, treating them as startups.
- Partner with department leads to identify inefficiencies, scope solutions, and prioritize work.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews and translate feedback into product improvements.
- Present technical work and outcomes to executive leadership.
- Design and implement integrations with third-party platforms.
- Evaluate third-party APIs, SDKs, and data schemas for integration.
- Maintain and operate shipped platforms in production, including dependency management, security, observability, and monitoring.
- Respond to production incidents and iterate on platforms based on feedback and telemetry.
- Document architectural decisions, system designs, and operational procedures.
- Onboard future team members and contribute to the evolution of the AI Studio.

- Experience optimizing AI systems for cost and performance.
- Experience integrating with third-party systems and APIs.
- Experience with production operations, reliability, and incident response.
- Strong documentation skills.
- Ability to switch fluidly between technical and non-technical conversations.
