About the job
As a Product Engineer at Replit, you will be instrumental in transforming emerging ideas into polished, user-friendly experiences. You will work across AI models, agentic workflows, and web infrastructure to build sophisticated and intuitive user interfaces. The goal is to create products that can define new categories for Replit, combining software flexibility with the accessibility of presentations, spreadsheets, and dashboards, allowing users to create powerful, interactive artifacts through natural language. This high-visibility role is for individuals with product judgment, technical range, and an ownership mindset, working closely with product leadership to build for the next generation of creators and knowledge workers.
Responsibilities
- Own major product experiences from concept through launch and improvement.
- Invent and build intuitive interfaces for AI-created presentations, data applications, and visual artifacts.
- Deliver exceptional frontend experiences, focusing on interaction design, typography, layout, motion, accessibility, performance, and error recovery.
- Partner with users, Product, Design, and AI engineers to understand workflows and iterate on products.
- Create reusable editing, visualization, and collaboration primitives to accelerate future product development.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional software engineering experience with a strong record of shipping user-facing products.
- Understanding of the full agentic software development stack.
- Deep experience with TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS.
- Strong knowledge of browser performance, application state, responsive design, and accessibility.
- Strong product judgment and visual taste.
- Comfort working across the full stack, including Node.js, APIs, Postgres, and data models.
- Familiarity with agentic software development processes.
