Replit is seeking a Legal Operations Manager to serve as the central point of contact for legal requests and the operational backbone of our contract lifecycle. This role involves triaging and managing incoming legal requests, overseeing the entire contract lifecycle, and supporting corporate compliance and data privacy initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a meticulous attention to detail and a proactive approach to ensure legal operations run smoothly and mitigate business risks. This position is ideal for someone who excels at building systems, closing loops, and ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and correctly.
Responsibilities
- Drive the Legal team's operational strategy, identify system and workflow improvements.
- Implement, maintain, and optimize the legal tech stack, partnering with AI and GTM teams.
- Manage budget, forecasting, accruals, and track spend in collaboration with Finance and Legal leadership.
- Own planning cycles, OKRs, and data reporting for the Legal team.
- Manage outside counsel relationships, including engagements, billing, and e-billing.
- Build and maintain knowledge management platforms and learning programs for the Legal team.
- Oversee day-to-day legal operations, driving efficiencies in vendor management, contract signatures, and expenses.
- Serve as the primary intake point for legal requests, triaging by urgency and complexity.
- Organize and consolidate legal requests into a centralized tracking system.
- Handle baseline legal reviews and approvals, escalating complex matters.
- Develop and maintain tooling and processes for tracking requests, contracts, and deadlines.
- Track responsible managers and contract renewal deadlines.
- Manage contract templates and organization (Vendor MSA, NDAs, offer letters).
- Implement and maintain safeguards for contract management.
- Assist in strategic corporate transactions, including due diligence and data room building.
- Support post-closing integrations and follow-ups for corporate transactions.
- Manage annual filings, updates, and deadline tracking.
- Prepare and update internal company policies.
- Prepare and update team trainings on legal issue spotting, privacy, governance, and HR.
- Track and implement updates to website and privacy policy terms.
- Organize and maintain general legal records.
- Prepare checklists and provide project support as needed.
- Track data subject requests (deletions) and assist with transparency reporting.
- Organize and maintain data maps.
- Coordinate and track data protection impact assessments.
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of proven legal administrative experience.
- Motivation to grow and expand knowledge base.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading ability.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously and work independently to complete tasks within given deadlines.
- High growth startup experience (bonus).
- Experience building out lean legal teams to carry out corporate responsibilities (bonus).
