Replit is seeking an AEO/GEO/SEO Lead to spearhead the company's discovery strategy across both AI-generated answers and traditional search engines. This is a foundational role where you will define and execute a zero-to-one strategy, leveraging AI production, agency partners, and cross-functional teams. The goal is to make Replit the primary answer when users inquire about building software, driving significant growth through AI referral traffic and compounding traditional search presence. You will collaborate closely with Web, Growth, Brand, Content, Product, Engineering, and Analytics teams in a fast-paced, experimental environment.
Responsibilities
- Define and execute the AEO/GEO strategy across platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, including prompt and intent targeting, and establish a playbook for success.
- Build programs to win citations across the open web, including Reddit, YouTube, and publications, to ensure Replit is trusted and cited by LLMs.
- Manage end-to-end SEO, including keyword strategy, on-page optimization, technical SEO, and content-driven organic growth, coordinating with the paid search team.
- Develop and direct content creation (blogs, comparison pages, videos) at volume, using AI-assisted workflows, for both LLM crawlers and human readers, ensuring high editorial quality and effective distribution.
- Establish measurement and reporting for AI referral traffic, share of voice in AI answers, citation tracking, and downstream conversions, running experiments to identify key drivers.
- Manage agency and vendor relationships for search and AI visibility, and oversee the associated tool stack, defining in-house vs. outsourced responsibilities.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in SEO, organic growth, or content-driven acquisition, preferably in SaaS, technology, or developer-focused businesses.
- Demonstrated success in growing AI referral traffic, winning citations, improving rankings, and measuring results.
- Technical SEO proficiency, including keyword research, crawling, indexing, structured data, site architecture, and log analysis.
- Understanding of LLM retrieval and citation mechanisms across different AI models.
- Ability to write clearly and quickly, and to direct content production using AI tools and human resources.
- Analytical skills to build credible measurement frameworks in dynamic channels, linking visibility to business outcomes.
- Experience partnering with engineering, product, content, and analytics teams in a fast-moving environment.
- A proactive, 'founder' mindset with a passion for building frameworks, processes, and strategy from scratch.
- Collaborative, low-ego approach with a willingness to engage in detailed work.
