Reflection is seeking a Head of Risk & Trust Governance to design, operate, and mature the organization's enterprise risk management and control environment. This leadership role will oversee the entire lifecycle of risk governance, from identifying obligations and designing controls to measuring, reporting, and representing the organization externally. The position sits at the intersection of risk, compliance, technology, and AI safety, requiring a deep understanding of enterprise risk frameworks, systems-level control design, and the ability to represent the company's risk posture to various stakeholders. This is a high-visibility role that demands translating complex risk concepts into actionable governance, influencing without direct authority, and building strong internal and external relationships.
Responsibilities
- Architect and govern a control environment for efficient adherence to organizational obligations and risk appetite.
- Design and operate an enterprise risk management framework covering identification, measurement, mitigation, monitoring, and reporting.
- Establish a disciplined approach to risk prioritization balancing operational efficiency and rigor.
- Architect and govern the organization's policy and standards issuance lifecycle.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and operation of controls and guardrails.
- Develop and maintain a structured controls taxonomy and policy hierarchy.
- Own and maintain the enterprise risk registry and control inventory.
- Provide oversight over the design, quality, and utilization of key risk-related ecosystem inventories.
- Champion data quality and governance standards for risk-related inventories.
- Develop and maintain executive-quality reporting on enterprise risk posture and control efficacy.
- Contextualize risk reporting for senior leadership and Board decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement of risk metrics, dashboards, and reporting cadences.
- Coordinate with AI Governance to manage AI risk.
- Own and maintain the AI use-case inventory and evaluation framework.
- Ensure AI governance practices align with regulatory expectations, ethical principles, and enterprise risk appetite.
- Partner with stakeholders to embed AI risk considerations into AI system design and deployment.
- Represent the organization on risk, governance, and AI safety topics to external stakeholders.
- Lead or contribute to contract negotiations with risk and compliance implications.
- Monitor the external regulatory and industry landscape to anticipate emerging obligations.
Requirements
- 20+ years of progressive experience in enterprise risk management, compliance, internal audit, or a related governance discipline.
- Demonstrated track record of designing, implementing, and maturing enterprise risk management frameworks and control environments at scale.
- Prior experience owning or significantly contributing to policy and standards governance programs.
- Meaningful exposure to AI governance, responsible AI, or technology risk.
- Working knowledge of AI risk and ethics frameworks, use-case evaluation methodologies, and emerging AI regulation.
- Experience engaging with external regulators, auditors, or enterprise customers on risk and compliance topics.
- Experience participating in regulatory examinations or customer due diligence.
