The Computer Use team at Anthropic focuses on enabling Claude to interact with computer interfaces and developing the agent harness and end-user products that transform this capability into practical tools. This team operates within Anthropic's research organization, bridging the gap between product development and model capabilities. As a Product Engineer on this team, you will be responsible for the complete lifecycle of our computer-use and browser-control product surfaces, working across the full stack from user interface to agent runtime and backend services. You will collaborate directly with researchers, ensuring a close connection to the model and the user. This role is dynamic, with frequently evolving priorities, requiring a high tolerance for ambiguity, adaptability, and the ability to continuously prioritize high-impact work.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery of computer-use and browser-control product surfaces, including scoping, building, shipping, measuring, and iterating.
- Diagnose and resolve reliability and robustness issues in the computer-use agent harness that hinder real-world usage.
- Collaborate with computer-use researchers.
- Partner with the Claude Cowork team on shared surfaces, integrations, and knowledge-worker workflows.
- Instrument products and leverage usage data to guide prioritization and track progress.
- Translate ambiguous user pain points into concrete, shippable features for knowledge workers.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping a product from inception to launch with end-to-end ownership, either as a founding/early engineer at a startup or with equivalent responsibility in a larger company.
- Strong full-stack engineering skills, including production web frontend and backend development.
- Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, prompting, or agent frameworks.
- A proven track record of shipping products to external users and iterating based on their feedback.
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience in a relevant field.
Benefits
- Annual compensation range: $300,000 - $320,000 USD
