Perplexity is seeking an IT Systems Administrator to join our San Francisco office. This is a high-impact role focused on building and automating the technology infrastructure that supports our fast-growing company. You will leverage Perplexity's AI tools to create automations, custom skills, and IT workflows that reduce repetitive tasks and improve efficiency. The goal is to move beyond simply responding to tickets and instead proactively eliminate them through intelligent systems and automation.
Responsibilities
- Build AI automations, custom skills, and IT workflows using Perplexity's Computer product.
- Tune agentic IT ticketing systems, including analysis, KPI creation, and automated resolution workflows.
- Automate the management of users and devices to minimize manual IT intervention.
- Enable self-service capabilities and assist other departments in automating their processes.
- Manage and optimize corporate software systems.
- Improve Mobile Device Management (MDM) setup and enhance the onboarding experience.
- Implement and enforce robust security policies.
- Lead IT projects related to endpoint management, Identity and Access Management (IAM), and IT backend systems.
- Train and support staff on IT systems, both in-person and remotely.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on IT systems administration experience.
- Strong skills in macOS and Google Workspace.
- Expertise in administering and automating Okta, including securing access with strong authentication policies and end-to-end user lifecycle automation using Okta Workflows.
- Scripting experience with Bash or Python is highly preferred.
- Sharp troubleshooting instincts across MDM, Okta, and common SaaS applications.
- Solid grasp of cybersecurity fundamentals, including IAM, RBAC, least privilege, and encryption.
- Experience managing a ticketing system, including ITIL Problem Management and creating/monitoring SLAs.
- Proven track record of leading IT projects from upgrade to rollout with minimal supervision.
- Clear communication skills and a genuine interest in automating repetitive tasks.
