Perplexity is seeking a Product Manager to focus on the core agentic and search experiences of its defining product, Computer. This role involves working closely with design and engineering to shape how users interact with AI for research, shopping, investing, and transforming knowledge into action. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and writing skills, the ability to envision innovative technology, and a passion for a particular industry, highlighting their domain expertise. The Core Experience team is responsible for the foundational interactions that users engage with daily, including starting and continuing work, understanding product actions, navigation, context management, collaboration, and cross-platform continuity.
Responsibilities
- Identify high-leverage user problems and translate them into clear product direction.
- Partner with design, engineering, data science, and research to deliver fast, intuitive, cohesive, and dependable experiences.
- Anticipate opportunities for innovation and value in enterprise industries.
- Envision new experiences and deliver a long-term product vision.
- Work with research to steer nondeterministic models towards high-value user outcomes.
- Make difficult product decisions with conviction, even in the face of uncertainty.
- Develop a deep understanding of user needs, behaviors, and friction through various research methods.
- Make complex AI behavior understandable and controllable through clear interaction models and thoughtful defaults.
- Drive alignment for improvements that span multiple product surfaces, platforms, or teams.
- Communicate product decisions, tradeoffs, progress, and learnings clearly to leadership and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Strong experience with product management and leadership.
- Strong experience working with data and metrics.
- Experience with productivity and knowledge work products.
- Experience with prototyping and data visualization.
- Experience building data-driven flywheels for iterative improvement.
- Ability to thrive in a small, agile team with initiative and a desire for ownership.
- 4+ years of product management experience.
- Strong communication and writing skills.
- Ability to envision innovative technology.
- Willingness to reimagine work for efficiency and creativity.
