Perplexity is seeking a Product Manager to focus on foundational AI capabilities that enhance our products, making them more powerful, extensible, collaborative, and useful. This role involves working closely with design and engineering teams to own the product structures that transform intelligence into repeatable, composable experiences. You will identify high-leverage user and platform problems, translate them into clear product direction, and partner with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful user experiences. The ideal candidate possesses strong product judgment, deep user empathy, analytical rigor, fluency in agentic systems, and the ability to translate technical primitives into user-friendly products.
Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities for innovation and value in reusable, composable AI capabilities.
- Define and deliver a long-term vision for AI capabilities such as Skills, collaboration, artifact generation, and Projects.
- Understand the factors influencing capability discovery, adoption, reuse, sharing, and ecosystem growth.
- Collaborate with engineering and design to align product expectations with model, tool, and platform capabilities.
- Partner with research to guide nondeterministic models, tools, and agents towards valuable user outcomes.
- Make difficult product decisions amidst uncertainty.
- Develop a deep understanding of how individuals and teams create, customize, collaborate, and build repeatable workflows with AI.
- Make complex AI behavior understandable and controllable through clear interaction models, thoughtful defaults, permissions, and well-designed feedback.
- Drive alignment for capabilities that span across different product areas or teams.
- Communicate product decisions, tradeoffs, progress, and learnings to leadership and cross-functional partners.
Requirements
- Strong experience in product management and leadership.
- Strong experience working with data and metrics.
- Experience building AI-native productivity, collaboration, platform, or developer-facing products.
- Experience with agentic systems, tool use, evaluations, extensibility, or workflow orchestration.
- Experience with rapid prototyping and designing systems that produce high-quality artifacts.
- Experience building data-driven flywheels for iterative improvement.
- Demonstrated initiative and desire for ownership in a small, agile team environment.
- 4+ years of product management experience.
