Percepta is seeking a founding member for its data team to transform critical institutions with applied AI. This role spans data engineering, data science, and ML engineering, with a primary focus in one area and broad experience across the others. You will be responsible for turning messy enterprise data into usable formats for AI, building data pipelines, models, and ontologies. Additionally, you will develop the product and tooling to accelerate data processing and create compounding value across customers. As a founding hire, you will play a key role in shaping Percepta's data strategy and playbook.
Responsibilities
- Turn high-value use cases from ideas to production, owning the full lifecycle of a model in production.
- Build end-to-end pipelines for streaming and batch data to create AI-ready assets.
- Integrate LLMs into production pipelines for tasks like structured extraction from unstructured text.
- Build internal products and tooling to improve data work efficiency and repeatability.
- Form and socialize technical opinions on data models, storage, orchestration, and infrastructure tradeoffs.
Requirements
- Strong experience in Data Science, Data Engineering, and/or Machine Learning.
- Comfort designing systems for real-time streaming and batch data under latency constraints.
- Fluency in evaluating ML model metrics and identifying production-ready models.
- Demonstrated data skepticism and ability to dig into raw records.
- Fluency using AI-assisted coding tools with judgment to verify own analysis.
- Product instinct for building tools that simplify work.
- Intuition for the data needs of modern AI/ML and LLM systems.
- High ownership and strong communication skills for direct customer engagement.
