Oxus is seeking a Founding Engineer to join its early-stage team, which is building AI-powered solutions to automate internal audit workflows for public and pre-IPO companies. The company's platform is already used by leading payroll providers, public biotechs, and social media enterprises to streamline the manual processes involved in gathering, reviewing, and documenting information for internal audits. The Founding Engineer will play a crucial role in developing these AI systems, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and reviewability in high-stakes workflows. Responsibilities
- Build agentic workflows for complex, multi-step audit tasks.
- Develop features related to retrieval, structured extraction, citations/provenance, OCR, and long-context reasoning.
- Own and ship features end-to-end, from ideation to customer delivery.
- Diagnose and fix issues quickly.
- Proactively identify and suggest product and technical improvements.
Requirements
- Proven track record of building and shipping software.
- Strong Python and backend engineering skills.
- Significant experience building with AI tools like Claude, Codex, Cursor, and agent SDKs.
- Ability to move quickly while maintaining high quality and strong judgment.
- Clear and proactive communication skills.
- Comfort with ambiguity and figuring things out without an established playbook.
