Anthropic is building reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems to be safe and beneficial for users and society. This role will manage the broad sourcing operations essential for Anthropic's global data center infrastructure, encompassing compute, networking, racks, mechanical components, cabling, and the associated supplier ecosystem. The successful candidate will ensure timely delivery of hardware to the correct sites under favorable terms, acting as the operational owner for these critical infrastructure elements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end sourcing operations for data center hardware categories, including supplier engagement, competitive processes, contract negotiation, and performance management.
  • Oversee supplier operational rhythm through scorecards, capacity planning, and quarterly business reviews.
  • Negotiate commercial terms across categories, aligning with deployment plans and prioritizing execution and on-time delivery.
  • Address supplier issues across programs, collaborate with engineering and finance on trade-offs, and maintain stakeholder alignment amidst ambiguity.
  • Develop AI-powered workflows for benchmarking, RFQs, contract analysis, and reporting for the sourcing team and partners.
  • Produce deal memos, supplier business reviews, and operational readouts for leadership to ensure program progress.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain operations across multiple hardware categories.
  • Demonstrated operational rigor in managing supplier performance, lead-time discipline, and fulfillment escalations.
  • Ability to transition effectively between different hardware sourcing activities (e.g., compute negotiation, networking RFx, mechanical contracts).
  • Proficiency in operating under ambiguity and structuring undefined problems.
  • Skill in influencing cross-functional partners and establishing shared standards without direct authority.
  • Clear written communication skills, producing actionable artifacts for senior stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.

  • Annual compensation range: $320,000 - $405,000 USD
