About the job

Dots is building personal AI agents designed to help users achieve their goals, even when they're not actively using the platform. These agents learn user preferences, maintain context, operate across applications, and leverage cloud computing for task execution. The team combines product engineering, design, and research to transform cutting-edge model capabilities into practical, everyday experiences. Engineers on this team will play a crucial role in defining how users delegate tasks, understand agent actions, and maintain control. They will contribute to both the product's user-facing features and the underlying systems, from initial prototyping through to launch and ongoing iteration.

Responsibilities

  • Design and launch mobile web interfaces for task creation, agent activity review, and user feedback.
  • Develop interfaces capable of handling streaming updates, long-running tasks, session interruptions, and variable connectivity.
  • Enhance responsiveness, loading performance, accessibility, and usability across various screen sizes and browsers.
  • Collaborate with design and product teams to prototype interaction patterns that ensure user visibility and control over agent actions.
  • Work with backend and full-stack engineers on APIs, client-side state management, and synchronization between the interface and agent services.
  • Take ownership of features from initial exploration and technical design through to launch, measurement, and refinement.
  • Contribute to setting frontend architecture and engineering practices while remaining hands-on with implementation.

Requirements

  • Substantial experience shipping polished web applications, with deep expertise in mobile web development and browser behavior.
  • Strong frontend engineering skills, including proficiency in responsive layouts, accessibility, client state management, and application performance.
  • Experience building interactive interfaces that remain understandable during asynchronous data or task state changes.
  • A combination of attention to visual and interaction details with sound technical judgment.
  • Ability to translate ambiguous product challenges into functional software and iterate based on user feedback.
  • Effective collaboration with designers, product managers, researchers, and engineers across the stack.
  • Experience leading complex projects or influencing architecture while continuing to write and ship code.
  • Experience with real-time collaboration, offline/intermittent connectivity, or products managing complex workflows is a plus.
  • Prior experience with AI or machine learning is helpful but not required.
