About the job
We are seeking a hands-on Professional Services Commercial Lead to manage the entire deal desk workflow for assigned professional services engagements. In this individual-contributor role, you will be responsible for drafting and revising statements of work (SOWs), validating pricing and deal inputs, coordinating cross-functional reviews and approvals, and ensuring all commitments are clear, deliverable, and ready for execution. The key differentiator for this position is strong drafting expertise, enabling you to transform technical and delivery inputs into precise scope, deliverables, milestones, assumptions, dependencies, acceptance criteria, fees, and change controls, while keeping deals moving forward.
Responsibilities
- Own assigned deals from intake through approval, signature, and operational handoff.
- Draft and revise SOWs, work orders, and change orders, partnering with Legal on non-standard terms.
- Validate pricing, fees, resourcing, discounts, margins, and billing milestones against approved guardrails.
- Coordinate reviews and approvals across multiple departments, surfacing gaps and aligning stakeholders.
- Identify and resolve delivery and commercial risks, including scope clarity, infeasible commitments, and billing implications.
- Maintain accurate deal records and status updates, meeting turnaround commitments.
- Improve templates, playbooks, and workflows to enhance deal quality and speed.
Requirements
- Typically 7+ years of relevant B2B experience in deal desk, commercial contracts, professional services operations, sales operations, or order management.
- 3+ years of substantial, hands-on experience drafting and revising customer-facing SOWs for professional services.
- Experience with pricing validation, commercial intake, approval, and routing workflows.
- Ability to translate technical or service requirements into contract-ready scope, deliverables, and milestones.
- Sound judgment and independent ownership of complex deals, with the ability to recommend practical solutions.
- Working knowledge of quote-to-cash processes and the impact of SOW structure on delivery, billing, and revenue.
- Clear, concise communication and excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple time-sensitive deals and influence partners without formal authority.
