OpenAI's API team is responsible for the infrastructure and product layers that enable millions of developers to integrate AI models, fine-tune behavior, manage data, and deliver experiences to their users. As the Agents Product Manager for the API team, you will define and guide the future of how developers build agentic applications on top of our AI models. You will set clear priorities and drive impactful improvements to model capabilities, balancing user needs, safety considerations, and technical innovation. This role is ideal for a proactive, technically adept PM who thrives on solving challenging, ambiguous problems through structured product thinking and close collaboration with customers, engineers, and researchers.
Responsibilities
- Understand problems faced by agent builders and identify opportunities for product and model improvements.
- Define strategic priorities and roadmap for agentic infrastructure for API users.
- Partner with research and engineering teams to translate priorities into developer products and features.
- Deliver product improvements quickly while maintaining high quality and user experience.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management or related industry experience.
- Proven track record of building for developers, with strong intuition for designing clear, flexible APIs and primitives.
- Experience collaborating directly and deeply with high-growth tech companies.
- Hands-on experience driving consensus and action in ambiguous spaces.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills for diverse teams and complex ideas.
