About the job

We are seeking a driven solutions leader with a product mindset to partner with public sector customers and ensure they achieve tangible value with GenAI. You will collaborate with government agencies, policymakers, and public institutions to establish a GenAI strategy and identify high-value applications. You'll then work with their technical teams, subject matter experts, systems integrators, and implementation partners to move from prototype through production, designing architectures using the OpenAI API and other services to maximize customer value. This role involves close collaboration with Sales, Solutions Engineering, Global Affairs, Applied Research, and Product teams.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead, embedding with public sector customers to ideate and build novel applications on our API and foundational technologies.
  • Collaborate with senior customer stakeholders to identify the best applications of GenAI and build a comprehensive AI roadmap.
  • Accelerate customer time to value by building hands-on prototypes and providing strategic guidance, often with systems integrators.
  • Forge and manage relationships with customer and implementation partner leadership to ensure successful application deployment and scaling.
  • Contribute to open-source developer and enterprise resources.
  • Scale the Deployment Engineering function by sharing knowledge, codifying best practices, and publishing notebooks.
  • Deliver high-signal feedback to Product, Engineering, and Research teams.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of technical consulting experience with public sector customers (U.S. federal preferred), bridging technical teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Proven success in leading GenAI or traditional ML implementations for government agencies in collaboration with systems integrators.
  • Understanding of network and cloud architecture, including experience with on-premise deployments.
  • Effective communication skills, able to translate business and technical topics to diverse audiences.
  • Industry experience in programming languages like Python, Go, or Typescript.
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end and acquire necessary knowledge.
  • Humble attitude, eagerness to help colleagues, and commitment to team success.
  • High throughput operator capable of managing multiple concurrent projects and prioritizing effectively.

Benefits

  • Relocation support
