About the job

We are seeking an Applied AI Engineer specializing in Cyber to join our team. In this customer-facing technical role, you will partner with clients to leverage OpenAI models, APIs, and agentic workflows for real-world cybersecurity challenges. You will work with security leaders and practitioners to identify high-impact use cases and design practical AI-driven solutions for areas like secure code review, vulnerability triage, threat modeling, and incident response. This role requires a blend of executive-level strategic thinking and hands-on technical expertise to guide customers from initial prototypes to robust production deployments, ensuring safe and effective integration of AI into critical security workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical lead for AI-enabled cybersecurity workflows, partnering with customers.
  • Lead discovery for various cybersecurity use cases including AppSec, DevSecOps, and incident response.
  • Build and deliver customer-facing demos, prototypes, and reference architectures using OpenAI APIs and security tools.
  • Scope pilot projects with clear success criteria and integration plans.
  • Advise customers on safe AI implementation patterns, including tool use and guardrails.
  • Translate between executive-level outcomes and practitioner-level implementation details.
  • Create reusable field assets like playbooks and qualification guides.
  • Deliver feedback to Product, Engineering, and Research teams based on customer needs and product gaps.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical consulting, solutions engineering, security architecture, or equivalent customer-facing technical experience.
  • Strong cybersecurity domain expertise in areas such as application security, cloud security, or incident response.
  • Ability to communicate credibly with CISOs, CTOs, and technical security practitioners.
  • Hands-on experience building prototypes or production systems with APIs, Python or JavaScript, and common security tooling.
  • Understanding of designing AI workflows with retrieval, structured outputs, tool use, and guardrails.
  • Experience scoping pilots from ambiguous customer pain points.
  • Evidence-based security judgment and ability to validate findings.
  • Ability to own problems end-to-end and operate with high throughput.
  • Humble attitude and eagerness to help colleagues.

Benefits

  • Relocation support to new employees.
