About the job
As a Partner Applied AI Architect, you will serve as a senior technical advisor to a portfolio of strategic partners, shaping how they build practices around OpenAI's products and develop solutions for joint customers. You will translate business priorities into technical strategies, design secure and scalable AI architectures, and guide partners through the entire lifecycle from opportunity identification to production adoption and measurable business impact. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and partner leadership, focusing on enabling partners to deliver high-quality AI solutions independently at scale.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical advisor and long-term technical relationship owner for strategic partners.
- Partner closely with the Revenue Partnerships team to align strategy, technical priorities, and joint customer opportunities.
- Develop technical strategies and plans for partners, identifying priority solutions, use cases, and enablement needs.
- Assess partners' technical capabilities and delivery readiness, identifying gaps and investment requirements.
- Lead technical discovery with partners and customers to identify and qualify AI use cases tied to business outcomes.
- Develop Applied AI architectures spanning models, applications, enterprise data, integrations, security, and deployment.
- Collaborate with partner sales and technical teams on strategic opportunities, providing technical guidance.
- Guide partners through initial and strategic OpenAI deployments, ensuring solutions meet high standards for quality and security.
- Build partner capability and technical self-sufficiency through enablement, guidance, and mentorship.
- Establish standards for partner-delivered solution quality and identify risks.
- Orchestrate OpenAI specialists to support partner engagements.
- Track partner capability, pipeline progress, adoption, and customer impact.
- Identify and document repeatable patterns into architectures, playbooks, and best practices.
- Provide insights from partners and customers back to Product, Engineering, and Research teams.
Requirements
- Significant experience in senior customer- or partner-facing technical roles such as solutions architecture, partner engineering, field architecture, technical account leadership, AI deployment, or technical consulting.
- Experience working successfully with global or regional system integrators, consulting firms, or other technology partners.
- Strong architectural judgment.
- Executive presence.

- Ability to move confidently between business strategy and hands-on technical conversations.
