About the job

We are seeking senior engineers to contribute to the CUDA driver, a fundamental component for accelerating general-purpose computation on GPUs. This role involves enhancing features and improving performance to maximize NVIDIA hardware potential across diverse workloads, including deep learning, scientific computation, gaming, and virtual reality. The position requires strong system software programming, a deep understanding of operating systems and kernel programming, hardware architecture, and excellent communication skills. You will collaborate with hardware and software engineers to design, develop, debug, and deploy critical aspects of NVIDIA hardware and mobile system-on-chip devices. The work spans the entire development lifecycle, from design feedback and pre-silicon simulation to silicon bring-up and production software deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software on pre-silicon environments (simulation/emulation).
  • Drive CUDA enablement for new silicon and architectures.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, stabilize, and productize CUDA features for new chips and systems.
  • Architect and implement new features, and contribute to CUDA bring-up on new chips.
  • Define and drive improvements to CUDA APIs and the programming model across multiple teams.
  • Write effective, maintainable, and well-tested code.
  • Develop code for multiple operating systems.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant systems software development experience.
  • Strong C programming skills and knowledge of parallel programming.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer system architectures.
  • Experience with operating system interfaces for threads, process control, and virtual memory.
  • Experience writing and debugging multithreaded programs.
