About the job

NVIDIA is seeking an exceptional engineering leader and manager to head up the Isaac for Manipulation team. This role focuses on giving robotic arms and dexterous systems the perception, grasping, and motion skills needed for real-world applications. You will be responsible for the strategy, roadmap, and execution for manipulation capabilities, addressing complex contact-rich problems in manufacturing, logistics, and industrial automation. This is a high-visibility position with the opportunity to grow and mentor a world-class team, set technical direction, and partner with the robotics ecosystem to establish NVIDIA as the leading platform for robotic manipulation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, recruit, grow, and mentor a high-performing team of robotics software engineers, setting direction and managing team performance.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define and drive the strategy and roadmap for grasping, motion planning, perception-for-manipulation, and learned manipulation policies.
  • Translate complex contact-rich manipulation tasks into robust, real-world capabilities for manufacturing, logistics, and assembly.
  • Partner with NVIDIA Research and other teams to integrate sim-to-real, imitation, and reinforcement learning approaches into the platform.
  • Engage with external partners, robot-arm OEMs, system integrators, and the developer community to gather requirements and ensure platform usability.
  • Drive architecture and execution to leverage NVIDIA GPUs, CUDA, and accelerated computing for simulation, training, and on-robot inference.
  • Own the planning, execution, quality, performance, and real-world deployment of manipulation stacks on physical robots.
  • Represent manipulation in platform-level technical and business decisions, influencing NVIDIA's investment strategy in robotics.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 12+ years of relevant industry experience in robotics or robotics-adjacent systems.
  • 3+ years of experience leading, mentoring, and managing engineering teams.
  • Hands-on expertise with robotic arms, manipulation, and physics, including grasping, motion planning (optimization and sampling-based), and control (force/impedance, contact-rich).
  • Working understanding of GPU-accelerated computing and modern ML infrastructure, and architecting robotics software to leverage CUDA and PyTorch.
  • Demonstrated ability to interface with external partners, customers, and developer communities, translating needs into product roadmaps.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals in modern C++ and Python.
  • Ability to engage substantively in technical and architectural decisions.
