About the job
NVIDIA is seeking an extraordinary Senior Perception Engineer to develop and productize autonomous driving solutions. This role focuses on creating end-to-end perception modules responsible for understanding traffic signals, signs, road markings, and construction objects, crucial for driving without reliance on HD maps. The goal is to enhance the robustness, accuracy, and efficiency of these solutions to enable autonomous driving in all conditions. You will be instrumental in designing perception systems, applying deep learning for various traffic-related tasks, developing generalizable approaches for diverse driving scenarios, and driving data-driven development by collaborating with data collection and labeling teams. Leveraging data simulation and augmentation will be key to solving extreme scenarios, and you will be responsible for productizing these solutions to meet stringent safety, latency, and software robustness requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end solutions for Perception and AV stack to enable traffic signal detections across various driving environments.
- Apply research and development of deep learning models for traffic light detection, traffic sign recognition, road marking detection, construction object detection, and text recognition.
- Develop generalizable approaches to support diverse operational design domains (ODDs) and country/region expansion.
- Drive data-driven development by working with large data collection and labeling teams to improve perception system accuracy.
- Prioritize and plan data collection, labeling, and optimization to maximize data value.
- Leverage data simulation and augmentation for solving extreme scenarios.
- Productize developed perception solutions by meeting product requirements for safety, latency, and SW robustness.
Requirements
- PhD with 4+ years, MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 2+ years of technical leadership experience is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in developing deep learning and algorithms to solve real-world problems.
- Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
- Experience in data-driven development and collaboration with data and ground truth teams.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.
