About the job

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Perception Engineer to develop and productize autonomous driving solutions. This role focuses on creating end-to-end perception modules responsible for online mapping, including road layouts, lane structures, boundaries, and other traffic components critical for driving without reliance on HD maps. The goal is to enhance the robustness, accuracy, and efficiency of these solutions to enable autonomous driving in all conditions. You will be involved in applied research and development of deep learning models for various perception tasks, developing generalizable approaches for diverse driving scenarios, and driving data-driven development by collaborating with data collection and labeling teams. Leveraging data simulation and augmentation will be key to solving extreme scenarios, and you will be responsible for productizing these solutions to meet stringent requirements for safety, latency, and software robustness.

Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end solutions for perception and AV stack to enable road network detections across various driving environments.
  • Conduct applied research and development of deep learning models for lane graph construction, road boundary detection, traffic element recognition, and other static-world tasks.
  • Develop generalizable approaches to support diverse operational design domains (ODDs) and country/region expansion.
  • Drive data-driven development by prioritizing data collection and labeling efforts to maximize the value of data for improving perception system accuracy.
  • Utilize data simulation and augmentation techniques to address extreme scenarios.
  • Productize developed perception solutions, ensuring they meet product requirements for safety, latency, and software robustness.

Requirements

  • PhD with 4+ years, MS with 6+ years, or BS with 8+ years of relevant experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 2+ years of technical leadership experience demonstrating high technical and organizational complexity is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience in developing deep learning algorithms for complex real-world problems.
  • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Experience in data-driven development and collaboration with data and ground truth teams.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills.
