NVIDIA is seeking a motivated Senior GPU Memory Architect to join a team focused on solving complex problems and optimizing performance, area, complexity, and power on leading-edge silicon processes. This role involves developing innovative products for autonomous vehicles, AI, gaming, and mobile systems by creating and refining GPU memory architecture and management. The team is dedicated to pushing the boundaries of GPU performance and functionality, working from specification through implementation.
Responsibilities
- Develop architecture and micro-architecture to advance GPU memory systems and management, optimizing for performance, power efficiency, complexity, area, effort, and schedule.
- Participate in performance simulations to enhance memory access efficiency.
- Implement and maintain high-level functional and performance models.
- Analyze benchmarks, application workloads, and simulation results to identify microarchitecture optimization opportunities.
- Define and conduct experiments to study system behavior, present findings, and propose improvements.
- Create architectural specifications and customer-facing documents, collaborating with industry partners on software interfaces.
- Debug performance and functional issues across high-level models, RTL simulations, and silicon.
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field; a PhD in computer architecture is a plus.
- 6+ years of experience in GPU or CPU architecture and development, specifically in memory caching and interconnects.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in a dynamic, distributed team.
- Experience with hardware memory management units, prefetching, or memory subsystems.
- Practical experience with multi-core systems and memory coherency.
